1. Promoter, purpose and governing framework
The raffle is conducted by GT Comrades Cricket Club Inc. ("GT Comrades", "the Club", "we", "us" or "our"), ABN 19 217 257 197, a New South Wales incorporated, not-for-profit community cricket club. The raffle raises funds to support the Club’s community cricket and sporting activities, including equipment, competition and registration costs, grounds and facilities, player development, uniforms, administration and community cricket development.
Raffle website: https://raffles.gtcomrades.com.au. Contact: secretary.gtccc@gmail.com. These Terms are intended to operate consistently with applicable NSW community gaming, charitable fundraising and other applicable laws. If a mandatory legal requirement conflicts with these Terms, that requirement prevails.
2. Raffle structure
- Maximum 500 uniquely numbered entries.
- 400 entries are allocated for direct public sale through the Club’s raffle website.
- 100 entries are allocated to the MaaMadurai promotional pool.
- Public paid entries cost AUD $5 each.
- Each valid entry has one chance in the random draw.
- The raffle has three prizes and is intended to produce three different winners, subject to these Terms.
The draw will proceed using the valid eligible entries finalised at closing time unless the raffle is lawfully paused, postponed, suspended or cancelled.
3. Eligibility
Entry is restricted to persons aged 18 years or over. Entrants must provide accurate identifying and contact information.
The following persons are not eligible to participate: members of the Club’s management committee; persons directly involved in conducting, administering, validating or determining the draw; and any other person prohibited from participating by applicable law. A person who becomes ineligible before the draw cannot receive a prize.
The Club may require reasonable evidence of age, identity and eligibility before awarding a prize. An immaterial clerical error will not by itself invalidate an otherwise identifiable valid entry.
4. Raffle period
- Opens: 15 August 2026 at 12:00 pm.
- Closes: 30 September 2026 at 12:00 pm.
- Draw: 2 October 2026 at 12:00 pm.
- All times are Australia/Sydney time.
Entries must be validly completed before closing. The Club may close earlier if all available entries are allocated or continuation becomes unlawful or impracticable. An attempted purchase or claim that is not successfully completed before closing does not itself create an entry.
5. Prizes and values
- First Prize - Crown Prize: one custom-made, refurbished Premium Grade 1 English Willow cricket bat with SS TON LEGEND branding, estimated refurbished value AUD $400.
- Second Prize: one official GT Comrades Cricket Club jacket, estimated value AUD $70. Size is subject to availability; the Club will use reasonable efforts to provide the winner’s preferred available size or a reasonable alternative.
- Third Prize: one official GT Comrades Cricket Club cap, estimated value AUD $25.
- Approximate total prize value: AUD $495.
Prize values are estimates only and do not guarantee resale value, replacement value or future value.
6. Crown Prize condition - refurbished bat
The Crown Prize is a custom-made, pre-owned and refurbished Premium Grade 1 English Willow cricket bat. SS TON LEGEND branding/stickers were applied as part of the refurbishment. The bat is not represented as having been manufactured by SS as an SS TON LEGEND model.
The Crown Prize is not represented as new. It may show blemishes, cosmetic marks, wear and tear, surface imperfections, repaired or refurbished areas, minor cracks and other characteristics consistent with previous use and refurbishment. Further cracking, wear or damage may develop with future use.
The Club gives no voluntary or express warranty as to the bat’s future performance, durability, remaining playing life, fitness for a particular style of play, or freedom from future cracking or damage. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right, statutory guarantee or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Where practical, the Club will use photographs of the actual bat. A winner collecting the bat may inspect it before accepting physical possession. Acceptance of possession records receipt of the disclosed refurbished prize and does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
7. Prize substitution and no cash alternative
Prizes will not be substituted merely for convenience. If a prize becomes genuinely unavailable, lost, destroyed or materially damaged for reasons outside the Club’s reasonable control, the Club may, where lawful, provide a reasonably comparable prize of equal or greater reasonable value or take another lawful course. Material changes will be communicated as soon as reasonably practicable.
Unless required by law, prizes are not redeemable for cash, store credit or another product and are not transferable without the Club’s written approval.
8. Paid online entries
Public entries may be purchased through the official raffle website. Payment is handled by the Club’s approved payment service provider. The Club does not store complete payment-card numbers, card security codes or card expiry details in its raffle database.
A paid entry becomes valid when the required payment is successfully confirmed and the raffle system validly allocates and records the corresponding ticket number. A declined, abandoned, cancelled or incomplete checkout, or an expired temporary reservation, does not create a valid entry.
9. Payment successful but entry not allocated; overselling
If payment is successfully received but the system cannot validly allocate the corresponding entry, including because inventory is exhausted or a technical concurrency error occurs, the Club will investigate promptly and either complete a lawful allocation where possible or provide an appropriate refund or other remedy. The Club will not knowingly create entries above the published maximum to cure an oversell.
If a duplicate or incorrect charge occurs because of a technical or processing error, the Club will investigate and provide the appropriate remedy.
10. MaaMadurai complimentary promotional entries
MaaMadurai Street Foods may fund up to 100 promotional entries for distribution to qualifying customers. A customer who spends AUD $50 or more in a single qualifying transaction at MaaMadurai Street Foods, Toongabbie may receive one complimentary promotional entry, while the promotional allocation remains available.
- No separate raffle-entry payment is required from the customer for the promotional entry.
- Maximum one promotional entry per qualifying transaction, regardless of the transaction value.
- Transactions must not be artificially split to obtain additional promotional entries.
- The customer must complete the prescribed claim process before the applicable claim deadline and provide accurate contact details.
- A validly claimed promotional entry has the same chance of selection as any other valid entry.
- Promotional entries have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
If the underlying restaurant transaction is cancelled, reversed or refunded before the promotional entry is validly claimed, the entitlement may be cancelled. Once a promotional entry has been validly claimed, the Club will not invalidate it solely because of a later restaurant refund unless fraud, collusion or deliberate abuse is established or applicable law requires otherwise.
11. Promotional QR/code claims
Each promotional QR/code is intended for one successful claim only. Scanning a code alone does not create an entry. The Club may reject or invalidate duplicate, forged, copied, manipulated, stolen or otherwise unauthorised claims where there is reliable evidence of misuse. A legitimately issued and validly claimed entry will not be cancelled merely because another person later attempts to reuse its code.
12. Ticket allocation and customer details
Ticket numbers are allocated from available inventory by the raffle system. Participants cannot choose a particular number unless the Club expressly offers that feature. A ticket number will not knowingly be allocated to more than one valid entry.
Participants are responsible for providing accurate contact information and should promptly notify the Club of errors. An incorrect email address or phone number does not automatically extinguish an otherwise valid, identifiable entry. The Club may use order, payment and ticket records to verify ownership.
13. Draw procedure and integrity
After closing, the Club will stop new entries, finalise and freeze the eligible-entry list, investigate material discrepancies and conduct an electronic random draw from the final eligible pool. All valid eligible entries will be included and each valid entry will have an equal chance of selection.
The draw record may include the eligible-entry count, draw time, winning ticket numbers, administrator identity, system identifiers, exclusions/redraws and other audit information reasonably necessary to demonstrate integrity.
14. Prize order and one prize per person
- First valid winner selected: First Prize - custom-made, refurbished Premium Grade 1 English Willow cricket bat with SS TON LEGEND branding.
- Second valid winner selected: Second Prize - GT Comrades Cricket Club jacket.
- Third valid winner selected: Third Prize - GT Comrades Cricket Club cap.
One person may receive only one prize in this raffle. If a later selected entry belongs to a person already confirmed for a prize, or to an ineligible person, that selection will be disregarded and another eligible entry will be randomly selected for that prize.
15. Winner verification, notification and publication
A selected entrant is provisional until the Club reasonably verifies the ticket, identity, age, eligibility and compliance with these Terms. Winners will be contacted using the email address and/or mobile number provided.
The Club may publish limited winner information, such as first name, abbreviated surname, winning ticket number and prize won, on the raffle website and Club social channels. The Club will not publish unnecessary personal information such as a residential address, complete phone number, full email address, identity documents or payment information unless required by law.
16. Unclaimed prizes and redraw
The Club will make reasonable attempts to contact each winner. A prize must be claimed within three months after the original draw unless a different period is required by law. Until then, the prize will be preserved securely.
If a prize remains unclaimed after that period, the Club may forfeit the provisional entitlement and conduct a random redraw from the eligible entries for that prize, or take another course permitted or required by law. The same eligibility and verification rules apply to a redraw.
17. Prize collection and delivery
Prizes will ordinarily be available for free collection in Sydney at a location agreed with the winner. Delivery or postage may be arranged at the Club’s discretion. Any delivery cost payable by the winner will be disclosed and agreed before dispatch. Reasonable identity verification may be required.
18. Refunds, reversals and chargebacks
Valid paid raffle entries are generally final after successful payment and valid ticket allocation. Change-of-mind refunds are not ordinarily provided. Refunds or other remedies may be provided where a duplicate or incorrect charge occurs, payment succeeds but the valid entry cannot be supplied, the raffle is permanently cancelled, or applicable law requires a remedy.
If a payment is lawfully reversed before the draw, the related paid entry may cease to be eligible. Participants should contact the Club about an incorrect charge before initiating a chargeback where practical. Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in cancellation of affected entries where lawful. A post-draw payment dispute will be investigated on its facts and will not automatically alter a completed draw.
19. Technical failures and payment-provider changes
The Club will take reasonable steps to maintain the raffle platform but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Club may temporarily pause sales or claims to protect entry integrity or respond to a technical, security, payment-provider or regulatory issue.
The Club may change payment or technology providers where reasonably necessary. A provider change does not invalidate an entry that was already validly paid, allocated and recorded.
A participant who merely attempted to enter during an outage is not automatically entitled to an entry. If records show that payment was actually received or a valid claim was completed before closing, the Club will investigate and provide the appropriate lawful outcome.
20. Cancellation, suspension, postponement and rule changes
The Club may pause, postpone, suspend or cancel the raffle where reasonably necessary because of technical failure, legal or regulatory requirements, fraud or security concerns, loss or destruction of a material prize, circumstances beyond reasonable control or another serious event affecting fair operation.
The Club will not materially alter the raffle after entries open unless reasonably necessary and lawful. Material changes, including changes to prizes, closing/draw dates, ticket quantity, eligibility or draw method, will be published and existing entrants will be notified where reasonably appropriate or legally required.
21. Fraud, misuse and system interference
The Club may investigate and reject or invalidate an entry where reliable evidence shows fraudulent payment, stolen payment credentials, forged or manipulated promotional codes, collusion, automated attacks, unauthorised access, deliberate interference with the draw or other unlawful conduct. Decisions will be made reasonably and documented. Valid entries will not be arbitrarily cancelled.
22. Advertising and representations
Promotional material must be read together with these Terms. The Club will not advertise a guaranteed win, conceal a material entry condition or knowingly misrepresent a prize. If general promotional material conflicts with these Terms, these Terms govern to the extent permitted by law.
23. Fundraising proceeds and records
The Club will maintain appropriate raffle and financial records, bank fundraising proceeds and apply fundraising funds consistently with applicable NSW community gaming and charitable fundraising requirements and the Club’s charitable/community sporting purposes. The Club will maintain records of gross proceeds, relevant expenses, prize values, draw outcomes and other information reasonably required for compliance and audit.
24. Privacy
Personal information is handled under the Club’s Raffle Privacy Policy. Participation does not automatically subscribe an entrant to unrelated marketing.
25. Liability and statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any liability, consumer right, statutory guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
Subject to that qualification, the Club is not responsible for loss arising solely from inaccurate contact information supplied by a participant, a participant’s own device or internet failure, spam filtering by the participant’s email provider, or unauthorised access caused by the participant’s failure to secure their own device or email account.
26. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Participants submit to the jurisdiction of courts and tribunals competent to hear disputes in New South Wales. Questions may be sent to secretary.gtccc@gmail.com.
